Top 7 Best TV Antenna for Attic With Good Reception In 2022

The best TV antenna for attic is the one that provides you with the best reception. This can be tricky to figure out because there are so many different factors involved. There are several types of antennas, and they perform differently depending on where you live in terms of terrain, which direction your house faces relative to broadcast towers, how far you live from those towers, etc. So what should you do? The key is to find an antenna that has a high gain rating (or signal strength) and a low noise rating (or interference).

Why do I need a TV antenna for my attic?

A TV antenna for your attic is important because it helps you receive the best and most stable connection. If you plan on moving to a different location, an attic-mounted aerial can make this process much easier as well since they are easy to move from place to place. Additionally,  TV antennas that mount in attics will typically offer better signal than those placed outside or near windows as many homes have materials such as metal which may obstruct the reception of weaker channels.

6. Antennas Direct ClearStream 4V TV Antenna

Features:

  • Receiving free TV signals up to 70 miles away
  • Cutting-edge antenna technology
  • Comes with 20in mount
  • Dedicated UHF and VHF multi-directional elements
  • All-weather mounting hardware

Another product from the antennas direct is the ClearStream 4V HDTV Digital TV Antenna with Detachable Amplifier.

Antennas Direct, a popular online retailer of television antennas, stated in their product description about the ClearStream 4V antenna:

“The ClearStream 4 is an affordable multi-directional UHF/VHF indoor HDTV Antenna with remote controlled motorized 360 degree rotation for added precision targeting of available HDTV broadcast signals from up to 35 miles. This multi-directional flat panel design features patented reception technology and offers ultra low noise figure – giving cord cutters access to free local programming while eliminating monthly cable bills.”

After using the Clearstream4v over the past couple of months we can state that this is a great antenna for anyone looking to cut the cord.

We liked the clearstream4v after taking it out of the box and setting it up, we found it very simple to set up with no issues connecting all the coaxial lines. The only tricky part was finding an open space to mount it on our wall due to how large/thick it is compared to other antennas we’ve used in the past, but this wasn’t a huge deal since we were able to rotate the antenna 360 degrees until we got things just right. We have been using a flat screen television so being mounted horizontally should not be a problem as long as you have an outlet within reach. We live approximately 20 miles from Philadelphia, PA which is one of the largest cities in the United States, and receive all major channels (13 ABC, 6 NBC, 3 CBS, and 4 CW) without overages or contracts.

The antenna itself is very well made and sturdy; we have no concerns with this falling off our wall anytime soon. As seen in the picture below, we used cable ties to secure the cable line in place to ensure it doesn’t become loose or fall out from any movement that may happen such as wind outside or moving around when watching television. If you do plan on mounting outdoors please note that you will need a much thicker coaxial cable if your home uses Romex wiring due to voltage running through electrical wires which can damage your tv signal quality over time. Antennas Direct does state this in their product description, but we just wanted to make sure everyone is aware of this issue so you can plan ahead before purchase. One thing worth mentioning is that while the amplifier may give off an electrical smell during the first week or two of use after setting up, this was only while it was powered on and never seemed to affect picture quality/resolution at all over time.

The ClearStream 4V includes a coaxial cable which comes in very handy when connecting directly to your TV via coaxial input but also has an adapter for other devices such as Amazon Fire Tv or Apple Tv if needed. We didn’t have any issues with the included amplifier since our tv showed no signal gaps after powering on with the antenna. However, if your home does have some signal gaps the amplifier will help to amplify the signal and fill in any missing channels.

Overall, we highly recommend the ClearStream 4V HDTV Antenna for anyone looking to cut the cord on expensive cable bills without sacrificing picture quality or range. With an MSRP of only $99.99, it’s a great investment that can pay off in a few short months.

What to consider before buying the best TV Antenna for Attic?

There are some of these to consider:

Type of Antenna

The first thing you need to consider is the type, whether indoor or outdoor. Outdoor antenna can be placed on a wall or rooftop but they are not recommended for attics because it needs proper installation and safety precautions should be taken into consideration while installing an antenna in the attic. Indoor TV antennas do not require any mounting space so can easily be installed over windows inside your house. These types of antennas depending upon interior walls for support and signal strength might take a hit if there’s too much distance between the window and receiver unit attached to the cable wire outside.

Amplification

Another important factor is amplification which means boosting up the level of reception received from signals sent by broadcasting stations through airwaves. Many low-quality antennas do not have amplification features and they can pick up signals only if the broadcasting station is near enough to get a clear signal.

Budget

Before buying an antenna, you must figure out how much money is required for buying it because there are many types of TV antennas available on the market that range from $25-$150 based on their quality and performance. You also need to know what type of service provider (cable or satellite) you’re using with your television set before purchasing any kind of antenna as some services like DirecTV require ClearQAM output which allows digital cable channels to broadcast through unencrypted baseband video frequencies whereas other providers such as Dish Network provide both QAM and NTSC outputs allowing users to tune in both digital cable channels and regular analog television.

Range of Frequency

Another thing is to check the range of frequency which is very important for picking up signals from all broadcasting stations that are available in your area because some antennas have a narrow band compared to others with wider bands allowing reception of multiple frequencies at once.

Other Features

Also, you need to find out whether the antenna has other features such as smartpass amplifier which makes it possible by reusing existing cables so no new wiring is required while installation whereas Power Inserter provides power supply through coaxial cables instead of plugging into the wall sockets or surge protector. You also need to consider a USB port if you want to record video or watch streaming content on-demand after getting a clear signal from broadcasting stations.

DVR

Also, you need to know whether the antenna has a built-in recording feature so can record video or watch streaming content on-demand after getting a clear signal from broadcasting stations whereas some antennas have a USB port if you want to record video or watch streaming content on-demand after getting a clear signal from broadcasting stations while others don’t have this kind of features due to which user may face some problem during the installation process.

How to install your TV antenna in the attic?

Step-by-step instructions to install an attic TV antenna:

There are several steps involved in the process of installing your TV antenna. Though you may be tempted to skip some, it is important that you follow all these steps carefully so as not to compromise on the quality and efficiency of service provided by this equipment. Here’s how to go about doing just that –

First off, check with your local community association or relevant authority regarding the use of outdoor antennas before commencing installation work otherwise chances are high that any damage caused during installment will have to be compensated for.

Next up, find out if there is a height restriction applicable where you live which limits installation heights above roof level. If yes then keep yourself within those limits at all times else you risk getting served a warning, notice, or worse.

Secondly, identify the best place on your roof for installing a TV antenna and use proper ladders to reach that location while avoiding any injury in case of an accident. Remember never to stand higher than what is recommended by manufacturers.

Types of antennas and their benefits

There are two main types of TV antennae:

  1. Indoor
  2. Outdoor

The indoor type is intended to be used in a confined space, such as an apartment with thick walls. It can also be placed on windows or balconies where it will receive a signal from only one direction.

The outdoor model has more powerful amplification and uses higher frequencies, so very often they have multiple “beams” which you can point towards different sources of television transmissions.

In general, this kind is less sensitive than its older brother because all those beams reduce its range significantly – but it does offer better picture quality too. If you live close to your city’s broadcasting tower (about 20-30 miles), then the indoor antenna should be enough for you.

If, however, your house is a bit further from major cities or other sources of TV signals (about 40+ miles), it’s worth looking into an outdoor model as well.

Although there are some which can work both inside and outside. In case you’d like to research more on this topic, we have included several reviews below where customers discuss their personal experiences with particular models.

Benefits of installing a TV antenna in your home’s attic space

Attic antennas don’t affect your home’s appearance, so you won’t have to worry about a bulky antenna ruining the look of your roof or façade.

You can get more channels with an attic TV antenna because it can pull in signals from a greater distance than other types of antennas. This means that you may be able to access high-definition and even ultra HD content from local broadcasting towers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need special equipment or tools when installing a TV antenna in my home’s attic?

Yes, you will need a drill for making holes and a screwdriver for tightening up screws.

How long will it take for me to receive my TV channels?

It can take up to 30 minutes once you’re done installing everything, but usually no more than 15-20. Some people prefer to install the antenna right before they want to watch something that’s on one of their favorite networks so that they don’t miss anything.

Do I have options when choosing an OTA (over the air) signal reception system?

Yes, there are multiple options depending on how far away your home is from broadcast towers and what other obstacles might be in between you and them such as trees or terrain. You also get different choices based on whether or not you use cable/satellite already.

What is a TV Antenna?

The TV antenna is the best choice for receiving over-the-air digital TV signals. The majority of OTA antennas come in either indoor or outdoor styles, which are both designed to look like actual television broadcast towers. These sleek designs make it easier to blend your antenna into any living environment without disrupting its overall aesthetic appeal.

Conclusion

There are many different antennas on the market, and it can be tough to determine which one is best for your needs. However, by looking for an antenna with a high gain rating and low noise rating, you can ensure that you get the best reception possible. The seven antennas featured in this article are all great options, so be sure to check them out.

There are two main RAM stick types: DDR-SDRAM & DDR. The difference is that DDR stands for Double Data Rate, whereas SDRAM means Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory.

RAM Sticks have different speeds and bandwidths depending on the type of memory they use. It also depends on how many modules you have plugged into your computer.

The speed of the RAM sticks you have is important because it will determine how fast programs or applications can run, especially when there is more than one running at once. If the speeds do not match up between all of them, they cannot communicate with each other and their processors either work on two different tasks simultaneously (multi-tasking) or take turns, which will slow down their processing speed.

How do you know if your RAM sticks are working correctly?

The answer to this question is difficult because so many variables come into play here. Ensure the cables are plugged in properly and securely on both ends before assuming any problems with them.

What is a DIMM?

A DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module) is an older type of RAM stick that DDR sticks have replaced because they are faster and more energy-efficient. It is still used in older computers though, so it’s good to know the differences between them.

How do you clean a memory stick if it is dirty or dusty?

First, you need to make sure your computer is turned off and unplugged from the power source. If it’s a laptop, remove the battery as well as any other removable parts that are attached to the machine.

To clean a memory stick, use canned air or an electrical duster spray can with its nozzle set at a 90-degree angle and hold it about a foot away from the RAM stick. You should move it in small, circular movements so you don’t damage anything and accidentally knock any of the components off of their current locations inside your computer.

How to Clean Thermal Paste off CPU Pins

0

In this blog post, we’ll be discussing how to clean thermal paste off CPU pins. If you’re a gamer or overclocker then you may have dealt with a situation where your cooling solution becomes clogged due to dust and debris.

This is common when it comes to air-cooling solutions because the heat sink doesn’t come in contact with any of the components on the motherboard. In some situations, it can be difficult to remove all of this material without damaging anything so please read carefully before attempting any work on your PC.

Complete guide to Clean Thermal Paste off CPU Pins

List of necessary tools for cleaning AMD/Intel CPUs:

  1. Temperature gun
  2. Thermal Paste Remover Tool
  3. Q-tip or cotton bud
  4. Alcohol/thermal paste cleaner
  5. Cleaning Cloth
  6. Soft Brush

Step By Step Guide To Clean Thermal Paste off CPU Pins

Here is the step by step guide for you to clean off the thermal paste from your CPU pins:

Carefully remove the CPU from the motherboard

1. Carefully remove the CPU from the motherboard:

The first thing you’ll need to do is remove the CPU from your motherboard. The process of removing a boxed processor (CPU) varies between different manufacturers but it should be very similar for most models. You will want to begin by grounding yourself and then carefully un-clip or unscrew any retention brackets that are holding down the socket cover. Once these are removed, you will be able to see the CPU pins.

2. Use a razor blade or small flat surface screwdriver:

A very sharp tool is required in order to unplug the CPU without damaging any of your components so please use extreme caution when doing this. If you have thermal paste on both sides of your heatsink, then it is recommended that you remove thermal paste from the CPU cooler and motherboard as well. You can do this by scraping off any excess thermal paste with a razor blade or small flat-head screwdriver.

3. Take off all residue

Use the cleaning cloth to soak all the old thermal paste. After that scrub the cloth around the pin grid array. After doing this, use a fine edge brush to pull out dust from hard-to-reach areas.

Take off all residue

Avoid using solvents:

It is imperative to avoid using any type of solvent when cleaning your CPU pins because they may damage the package and cause corrosion. Some types of solvent can even ruin the processor if it is exposed to it for too long. It’s also important that you never try and clean this area with an air compressor because they typically spray everything in their path including other components on your motherboard.

Be very careful while cleaning:

When removing any residue from your CPU pins, be sure not to bend them because they are very fragile. If you accidentally damage one of these pins then your CPU will not function properly and it’s possible that other components on the motherboard may be affected as well. After removing all thermal paste, you should inspect this area for anything out of the ordinary such as bent or broken pins before re-inserting your processor back into the motherboard.

N.B: You can dip your CPU pins into alcohol for a little bit.

After Cleaning:

  • Before reattaching, please look at CPU sockets. If there any residue then clean them first.
  • Reattach the CPU onto the motherboard and test for functionality
Reattach the CPU onto the motherboard
  • If the CPU runs at a normal temperature, then you are all set. If it continues to run high, however, then there may still be some thermal paste on the pins of your CPU that needs cleaning off with rubbing alcohol.
  • Reattach the heat sink onto your computer tower and power up your computer to test if it runs at a normal temperature. If the heat sink is not running hot, then you are good. Otherwise, there may still be some thermal paste that needs cleaning off with rubbing alcohol.
Reattach the heat sink
  • Turn off your computer and remove the heat sink from your CPU by unhooking all of its screws and taking out each of the metal pins (be gentle – they are very sharp).
  • Take off your CPU lid and remove your CPU from its socket. Use a cotton swab to apply by rubbing alcohol onto each of the pins on the bottom of the CPU that touch into contact with other components within your computer’s motherboard. You can also place some rubbing alcohol onto a cotton swab and use it to wipe off the top of your CPU.
  • Once you are done, wait for at least 30 minutes or more before reattaching your heat sink back onto your computer tower with screws and metal pins in order to test if runs hot. If there is no problem, then congratulations – you are done.
  • If your heat sink runs hot, then you may need to reapply thermal paste onto the top of your CPU and clean off any pieces that get on its pins. This is only necessary if there was no problem with running at a normal temperature before cleaning off the thermal paste from the CPU. Otherwise, just attach back your CPU lid back onto its socket, and you are done.
  • If the heat sink is not running hot, then simply reattach your CPU lid back into place with screws and test if it runs at a normal temperature once more – otherwise you can turn off your computer and proceed to put all of these parts away until next time.

Caution

If you’re not comfortable with doing this yourself, then it is highly recommended that you seek out a professional to do this for you. Once your processor has been properly cleaned and re-installed back onto your motherboard, make sure everything works correctly before putting it back in its case; if issues arise after following these steps, then please feel free to contact a professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to avoid pins from broke?

The thing is that Thermal Paste Removal Tool can also break CPU pins if you don’t clean them properly. If this happens, do not attempt to fix or remove broken CPU pins without knowledge of soldering.

How to fix bent CPU pins on the motherboard?

Please do not attempt to fix bent CPU pins yourself. Contact a local computer repair shop and ask if they can assist you in fixing this issue.

How long does it take for a broken pin on the CPU?

It usually takes around 20 minutes to fix this kind of problem if you follow all instructions carefully.

Can old thermal paste cause prevent heat transfer?

Yes. Old or damaged thermal paste can cause reduced heat transfer between the CPU and the Heat Sink, which may result in overheating of your computer components.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you should clean your thermal paste off the CPU pins every couple of years. It depends on how often you use or look at your computer but it’s a good rule of thumb. You can also get better cooling performance from using new thermal paste over old since most manufacturers suggest replacing their products every three to five years after opening the box.

Is intel or AMD Better for AutoCAD?

0

The question of whether you should buy an AMD or Intel processor for your AutoCAD system has been debated on the internet numerous times. While some people prefer AMD processors, others are adamant that Intel is the way to go.

The truth is, there isn’t a right answer for everyone- it all depends on what you need out of your AutoCAD experience. If speed and power efficiency are more important than cost, then an Intel processor may be best for you.

On the other hand, if the budget is tight but performance isn’t as much of a concern, then AMD might be better suited to your needs.

Which CPU Should I Choose for Autodesk AutoCAD?

Regardless of which option you choose at the end of the day, it’s important to know exactly what kind of performance you’ll be getting. While it’s likely that both options will give you a positive AutoCAD experience, it’s still crucial to know exactly what kind of speed and power each processor offers before making your decision.

This article aims to walk you through all the information currently available so that when it comes time for you to make a choice, you’ll be able to do so with confidence.

The Intel Processor:

The Intel Core I series processors- sometimes referred to as the i-series or Intel Core series processors are considered some of the best on the market. They offer a good balance between speed and power, making them perfect for most AutoCAD users who don’t need to push their systems too far outside their comfort zone.

Whether you’re running an older version like AutoCAD 2010 or 2015 (which is compatible with both processors), or you’re running the latest AutoCAD 2022, Intel Core I series processors are a great choice. Also, Intel XEON series CPUs are compatible with AutoCAD too.

One of the main benefits of using an Intel processor is that it can be quite power efficient when compared to other options on the market- in fact, AutoCAD performance tests have shown that some versions can even outperform AMD processors (although this isn’t always the case). This makes it a good option for those who need to save power and don’t want to spend too much on their AutoCAD system.

Another benefit of Intel Core I series processors is that they tend to be more affordable than most other options out there- which can definitely help if you’re working with a tight budget. They also tend to be the processor of choice for most AutoCAD system builds, which can make it easier when shopping around and comparing prices.

While not everyone needs their CAD systems to run at top speeds all day long (and in fact, this is likely overkill), if you do work your AutoCAD system to the max, then you may want to opt for an Intel Core i series processor. This is because they are better at handling tasks that require a lot of CPU power (such as rendering), making them more suitable if your AutoCAD work tends towards this type of workload.

The AMD Processor:

If speed and performance are what matter most to you, then an AMD processor might be the best option for your AutoCAD system. While not as energy efficient or affordable as their Intel counterparts, they are known for being more powerful and better at handling tasks that require a lot of CPU power (such as rendering).

AMD processors have been around on the market longer than their Intel counterparts, and while they may be a little more expensive, the extra cost is generally worth it. If you’re working with an older version of AutoCAD (such as 2010 or 2015), then AMD will likely give you better performance than Intel Core i series processors- but if your CAD software uses modern hardware acceleration features such as multi-core support, OpenCL, or Hyperthreading, then Intel Core i series processors are likely to outperform AMD.

As you can probably tell by now, there’s a lot more that goes into choosing an AutoCAD processor than simply comparing the numbers behind them. While it may seem like one option is better for your needs based on their specifications alone (such as speed or price), there are plenty of other factors that you should take into consideration before making a decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AMD CPUs slower than Intel CPUs?

No AMD is not slower than Intel. It depends on what you are doing with it, but in AutoCAD or any other CAD program like Revit – the speed of your processor does not matter as much because most tasks don’t rely on pure processing power, rather they require memory and disk access speeds which do not depend so heavily on CPU’s clock rate.

Is AMD processor good for laptops?

Yes, but you will get what you pay for.

Does RAM/memory matter?

It’s important to have enough RAM for your workstation computer, but most people can get away with having less than 16GB.

Does clock speed matter?

Yes, it does. The higher the clock speed, the faster your computer can process data and return results to you.

What are workstation CPUs?

Workstation CPUs are typically used for high-end applications such as graphics design and CAD software. Workstations often use processors from Intel’s i series or AMD’s Ryzen chips, depending on the manufacturer of your workstation computer.

In general, both types of CPUs have a higher clock rate than those found in standard laptops or desktops.

What are the benefits of workstation CPUs?

Workstations provide more powerful processors with larger cache memory than standard laptops and desktops, which means that they can handle large amounts of data at once without slowing down performance. Additionally, most CPUs used in workstations have four or even eight cores instead of two or four, enabling programs to run at a faster speed.

Workstation CPUs vs laptops and desktops: which one is better?

Both workstations and standard laptops or desktops can be ideal for different purposes. For example, if your workload often includes running multiple applications simultaneously, then you should use a workstation since they are typically equipped with higher RAM capacities.

Is an AMD-based workstation good for SolidWorks?

Yes, definitely.

AMD has its Ryzen processors, which are very good for AutoCAD and SolidWorks-based workstations. The main advantage of this processor is that it saves you money compared to the Intel counterparts because they offer similar performance at a lower price point.

IS GAMING PC WRONG OR RIGHT FOR AUTOCAD

Is gaming PC wrong or right for AutoCAD?

Gaming PCs are more compatible with AutoCAD. AutoCAD is firstly CPU intensive then GPU intensive. It requires the CPU more than the GPU, without a doubt, it is better to buy a gaming PC for AutoCAD.

Does Storage Matter for AutoCAD?

Having an ultra-fast SSD (NVME m.2) is an important part of the computer set-up for AutoCAD users. It is beneficial to have a system that has both storage types, but if you are on a tight budget then it may not be possible.

Conclusion

In Closing When it comes to choosing an AutoCAD processor, the main things you need to consider are how much power you’ll be using your system for and whether the software uses any hardware acceleration features- as this will determine which option is best for your needs.

If you’re running AutoCAD 2010 or older, then AMD is likely the best choice- but if you have an up-to-date version of AutoCAD (such as 2020 or 2022), then Intel Core i series processors are more likely to give you better performance in most situations. Either way though, both options are likely to be more affordable than the other options available.

How Does RAM Affect Music Production?

0

RAM speed DOES matter to some degree, but it will not make a huge difference in your music production experience, especially if you are new to music production or are on a budget. When mixing, I typically recommend my clients use 8GB of RAM or more because it helps with launching your favorite plugins when building the initial mix.

However, when it comes time for runtime processing power (especially when layering tracks) slower speeds can actually be beneficial. The reason for this is that slow RAM often makes for more efficient overclocking in order to achieve even faster-processing speeds in terms of MHz per pin or GHz in general.

Going from 1333MHz to 2000Mhz is much easier than going from 1600MHz to 2400Mhz. Why? 1333MHz is 667 million cycles per second while 2000MHz is only 500 million, 1600Mhz is 800mhz, and 2400MHz is 1000mhz. Thus, the latter two options would require more voltage to drive them faster than their slower brethren, which usually results in burning up the motherboard/CPU or completely frying them both.

Now that we’ve got some of the technical aspects out of the way let’s talk about practicality. Unless you are doing some serious production (mixing) with thousands of tracks, hundreds on virtual synths on top of massive drumsets, etc… The majority of CPUs on modern-day computers will be able to handle your workloads just fine.

Onboard sound cards are also becoming more and more efficient. Creative’s new Sound Blaster ZxR cards have a built-in sound card with a 600ohm headphone jack for example. Also, the number of VSTs being used per session is at an all-time high so their efficiency has increased as well.

To put it simply, you don’t need to buy the best CPU or RAM for music production anymore. In most cases, even if you’re on a budget just buy whatever fits your needs and leave some money left over for either a better motherboard or whatever else tickles your fancy that month.

With that said there are a few CPUs out there that will give you great track counts in most DAWs (such as Logic Pro X) without overclocking. An example of this is the Xeon family from Intel which has been widely used as a music production workhorse for 10 years or more. You can find these CPUs on eBay for relatively cheap and they will provide you with plenty of extra oomph when it comes to mixing.

If you plan on using a DAW such as Pro Tools, Reaper, etc…you may want to consider going with a higher TDP chip if possible instead of a low TDP chip since those types of programs require more power than your average DAW at run time due to huge track counts and/or HQ plugins being used.

In conclusion, my final words are this: don’t waste money on high-speed RAM unless you plan on running 10+ virtual synths with massive drumsets in your project. Interesting enough, I had big plans for taking on projects requiring that kind of power when I first began music production back in 2010…but my songs always ended up turning out to be more “radio-friendly” than not so 100% of the time I was able to mix them all within my CPU/RAM limitations without any problems.

You can basically say goodbye to some 2 hour+ rendering sessions if you do things this way, but then again you wouldn’t have quite as many plugin tracks in most cases either.

Finally, looking at my own studio PCs, they are both slightly overclocked but still rather budget CPUs by today’s standards (Xeon X5650 6 core Black Edition is about 6-8 years old now). You can probably fit two of these chips in a $700-$800 PC build and still have money left over for an SSD if you wanted to.

As long as your motherboard isn’t junked you should be good to go because the CPUs are basically bulletproof. My current “main” PC uses an overclocked Xeon X5650 (4GHz) with 16GB DDR3 RAM (1600MHz), which may sound like overkill but it works flawlessly if I need to run high track count mixing sessions.

It even handles many virtual instruments running at once like they aren’t there. For example, I’ll sometimes bounce down several different mixes into stems using this CPU without any problems… Even though my RAM is well below capacity in this case.

In all, you don’t need a high CPU/RAM if you plan on just getting a few VSTs in your project and that’s it. Just buy whatever fits your budget and leave money left over for other things.

The only time you should consider going the gaming route is if you’re doing video editing or graphics work too which can benefit from such systems (or want to do both audio AND video). Otherwise, music production doesn’t require much horsepower at all to get results, especially today.
